In addition to the door hinges, 99.9% of the new Evoque car parts are completely new. Among the Range Rover family, Evoque’s body size is the smallest, so its target customers are closer to the young consumer groups.
Exterior
Beautiful and trendy have always been the word that describes the old Evoque. But the new generation of Evoque has taken this beauty to a new level. The all-LED light group follows a family-oriented design style, which is more eye-catching than the previous generation and its internal structure is more three-dimensional. The fog light area is still designed to be the "tiger claw" shape commonly used by Land Rover. The inverted trapezoidal bumper was retained but redesigned to match the overall style of the car body. The tires are still in the Pirelli SCORPION ZERO series, model 235/50 R20. Door handles are in hidden design, which enhances the sense of science and technology and also reduces the drag coefficient to some extent. The rear end of the car is designed to be simple, and the exhaust pipe is double-sided and concealed.
Interior
The interior configuration still shines. Even if the test car is not a high-end edition, it is still equipped with a trendy configuration such as streaming media rearview mirror, steering wheel heating, and panoramic sunroof. The center console is equipped with two 10-inch high-resolution touch screens. The top touch screen is designed as a fold-over screen that installed daily applications such as CarPlay. The electronic gear bar is wrapped around the leather material, and in the high-end edition model, it is wrapped in fur material. The parts of the car that are often in contact with the limbs are wrapped in soft material. Streaming media rearview mirrors have higher resolution and higher color reproduction. Between the front seats, there are two cup holders in normal edition models, while in high-end edition, it is equipped with a wireless charging device. The glove box is adopted with two USB 3.0 ports and a 12V power port. The new generation of Evoque currently has three interior color schemes, white and black, black and blue, and dark red.
After adjusting the driving posture, the room of a 183cm tall passenger’s head is four fingers wide. At the back row, leg space is about four fingers wide, and the head space is about a palm wide. The space utilization rate of the trunk is relatively high, but unfortunately, the trunk is not flat after seats were put down.
Power
Under the new platform, the Evoque is equipped with the Ingenium series engine independently developed by Jaguar Land Rover, matching the retuned 9-speed automatic transmission and 48V system. This system is currently being used for the first time on the Evoque and will be adopted on more Jaguar Land Rover models. In addition, the Evoque also has a 1.5T+48V version.
ATRS (All Terrain Response System)
Even if the Evoque is an urban SUV, it still carries ATRS (All Terrain Response System), which is Land Rover’s essence. The second generation of ATRS offers seven different driving modes including 6 terrain modes and 1 automatic mode. In the automatic mode, the vehicle automatically matches the optimal terrain mode according to different road conditions, and adjusts the vehicle chassis setting, torque output and distribution in time.
